Seeds were well received, I liked the quirky packaging Happy Days with Smiley Faces. I have germinated your Seeds before with 75% success rate. The Cheery Blossom Seeds were soaked in pure water overnight and then transferred to moist tissue paper, and placed in a dark place. I am monitoring the moistness of the tissue paper and will check if any chits have appeared after 3 full days. Seeds are destined for a Hydroponic Grow Tent which I am busy fitting out.

The following is a copy of the mail I sent to Groen seeds on 6 January and also a follow up on 22 January this year, neither of which I have had any response to. I see others have complained about exactly the same thing.

“This is to advise as follows:

Not a single one of the 25 seeds in this order has germinated.

I have been growing from seeds for more that 8 years and have never experienced anything like this.

I don’t have a problem with some seeds not germinating, as one cannot control nature completely, but an entire batch?!

For the first 12 seeds, I used my standard germination procedure, which is placing the seeds between 2 sections of damp paper towel, placing these in a dark cupboard indoors, at temps between 22C and 24C (I have a digital thermometer inside the cupboard that gives me max and min temps over a 24 hour period) and checked every day and kept damp with a spray bottle when required.

Within the first 24 hours, I could see what looked like the start of germination, at the “seam” of the husk – a sort of whiteish substance. I checked that on AI and was advised that, that was the pre-curser to the taproot forming. I was very happy with that, of course

That was however all that happened. I waited two weeks, keeping them in the cupboard, thinking that it may just be a very slow germinating seed.

Still nothing and I tossed that batch.

I then tried to germinate the balance of the seeds, splitting them into germinating with the paper towel method, coir and soil mix in seedling trays, and directly into the soil of the plant pots. All three methods I had successfully used in the past. Those in the paper towels and coir mix were “germinating” in the darkened cupboard, as above and those in the pots were in my grow room under lights.

Not a single seed out of a batch of 25, using 3 different methods that I had used very successfully many times in the past, germinated.

I had also ordered 2 different strains of seeds from my usual supplier at the same time, so I decided to test those after the failure above.

All 8 seeds (3 Shere Khan and 5 Sour Diesel) germinated within a few days using the paper towel method and have been transplanted and are already fairly large plants, that I had topped twice and are forming a lovely Screen of Green.

Lastly, I had very successfully grown a test batch of 3 CBD 26:1 seeds and had a very successful harvest earlier in the year. Unfortunately they had no stock when I wanted to order more, which is how it came about that I had ordered from yourselves.

I’ve ordered a couple of different strains from different breeders through Groen seeds more than once, including the in-house genetics, normal germination rates & the strains are as advertised & described. Definitely a site worth considering for seeds to grow & try different stains as well as pheno hunt a quality mother plant to keep for cloning fast, easy, decent, homegrown herb.

I bought 10 seeds and received 2 free samples. The seeds were acapulco gold and banana punch. Only 2 acapulco gold seeds germinated. Even the free samples failed. While I don’t expect all the seeds to germinate I do expect a better that 18% success. Hence the 18% rating. I am not a first time grower but am a first time groen customer. I have emailed groen but have had no response.

You delivered 12 different strains (all Groen genetics) to me and I selected 24 seeds to germinate a few weeks ago.

21 seeds did germinate successfully. I am very happy with the result.

The seedlings are starting to display different phenotypes – like leaf shape being different between the strains.

This gives me confidence that the Groen genetics are genuine.

I ordered seeds from Groen Seeds and was extremely disappointed with the results. The germination rate was far lower than expected, especially compared to seeds I’ve purchased from other suppliers. When I reached out to Groen Seeds about the issue, they told me that the supplier would conduct a germination test. However, it’s been over two weeks, and despite a follow-up message, I haven’t received any update or acknowledgment from them.

It feels like Groen Seeds doesn’t prioritize customer care or stand behind the quality of their products. Their response to my concerns seemed dismissive, as if my problem with germination and the seed quality was “not their problem.” I feel that they take no responsibility for the products they sell and show little concern for customer satisfaction. In contrast, I’ve had a 100% germination rate with seeds from other seed banks, which proves that quality and customer service are achievable in this industry.

If you’re considering buying from Groen Seeds, be aware that you might be taking a gamble with your order. Based on my experience, they seem unaware of the quality of their seeds and are unresponsive in addressing customer issues.

All germinated strongly within 6 days. Some up at day 3.
